Yeah, I Read A Lot… Part Two

Part two is hodgepodge of novels and manga. To condense what could have been an extremely long list I used one picture per several volumes of manga. Enjoy.

Title: Because of Miss Bridgerton [Rokesbys #1]

Author: Julia Quinn

Genre: Historical Romance

Published: March 2016

Rating: ✩✩✩✩

I enjoyed getting to know Sybilla and George. One thing Julia Quinn does well is fill out her characters. Sybilla was witty, smart, and self assured. George was smart, kind, and battling with his self worth. It made for an entertain romance.

Title: Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts [Vol. 1-6]

Story & Art: Yu Tomofuji

Genre: Manga, Romance, Paranormal, Shojo

Rating: ✩✩✩

I started out really enjoying this series but as it went on things got pretty repetitive. Maybe if it was Rated R I would have stuck around for more than six volumes. This PG 13 manga wasn’t giving me enough.

Title: Heartless Prince

Author: Lilian Monroe

Genre: New Adult, Romance, Contemporary

Published: March 2022

Rating: ✩✩✩✩

This was supposed to be a contemporary retelling of Sleeping Beauty… and well it kind of gave that but then there was so much more. Honestly Heartless Prince was messy but I love messy. Accidental pregnancies aside there was murder, family drama, conspiracies, and a whole lot of sex. What more could a girl ask for?

Title: Ascendance of A Bookworm [Vol 1 Parts 1-3]

Author & Artist: Miya Kazuki, Suzuka

Genre: Manga, Fantasy, Isekai

Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

During my time away I fell in love with isekai manga and Ascendance of a Bookworm is bound to be one of the greats. I especially love manga with little kids. This one is just so uncomplicated and cute.

Title: Dick Fight Island Vol 2

Author & Artist: Reibun Ike

Genre: Manga, Yaoi, Fantasy

Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

There is nothing specific that makes Dick Fight Island great; It just is. I thought this was a one and done so imagine my surprise when volume 2 popped up. It was mostly a compilation of love stories on already introduced characters. Still, who doesn’t love boy love.

Title: Paybacks A Witch [Witches of Thistle grove #1]

Author: Lana Harper

Genre: Fantasy, Paranormal, Lesbian, LGBTQA

Published: October 2021

Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

As a debut novel Lana knocked this out of the park. The story was well written and the romance was seamless.

Title: Vampire Dormitory [Vol 1-6]

Author & Artist: Ema Toyama

Genre: Manga, Vampire, Romance, Shojo, Gender bender

Rating: ✩✩✩✩

I stopped reading High School manga a while ago but anything with Vampires in it always draws me. I loved everything about this. The drama and romance was only intensified by the fact that they were vampires.

Title: Inked In Lies [The Fallen Men #5]

Author: Giana Darling

Genre: New Adult, Dark Romance, Suspense

Published: July 2020

Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

Inked In Lies brought me back to my Kylie Scott and Jay Crownover era. It gave everything it needed to give. I was wrapped up and committed from page one. Did I read the other books in the series? No and I didn’t need to. Giana Darling did her thing with this one.

Title: Romancing Mister Bridgerton

Author: Julia Quinn

Genre: Historical Romance

Published: July 2002

Rating: ✩✩✩✩✩

Like most of the world after the first 2 seasons of Bridgerton on Netflix I was aching to know what was going to happen between Penelope and Collin. Julia did not disappoint. It was good!

You can probably tell this is unedited. I just really wanted to get this done so I could more on. I think that’s the hardest part about making posts into series. Even if you don’t want to finish the series you’ve already committed so now you have no choice. Anyways, the small blurb I gave on these novels/manga are more of a disservice. I suggest you go check them out for yourself. They’re all genuinely good stories.

Until the next page,
