Naomi Novik is one of those authors that I always say I want to get into but never do. I'm upset that it took me this long to pick up one of her books. Once I started reading A Deadly Education, I knew I had no intentions of slowing down until it was over. Her [...]
Here I am once again, feeling lost but now and then, I read manga to let go. . . Welcome to volume four of the mini manga update series. If you didn't place that italic sentences it's from Nickelodeon's Victorious. The post has been a long time coming. Admittedly it's taking me a while to find stories I felt like I would genuinely like. That's not to say I'll love everything I've read in this volume (I don't) but I'm not the type of person to read things I know I won't like for the sake of trashing it in a post. I'm happy I've found a few manga to write about. Good, bad or ugly but just to get it out the way I'll start with the ugly.

By the professions her characters have and the life they live. The Awakening is no different. This novel is a journey to find one's self doused [...]
This year I'm not going to go crazy with my TBR's. I'm sure you'll see some books that have been on previous TBR's. I plan on reading all (or most of) the books I brought last year before buying any new ones. I think I went a little wild on the book buying during quarantine. January's TBR is as followed.
Now that I'm thinking about this novella (which I read while waiting for my day to end at work) it surprisingly has almost all of the characteristics of Cinderella. The fairy godmother? Check! Mice? Check! A prince? Check! There are a few differences though Cinderella or Odel in this case is extremely wealthy. Michelle our prince is actually pretty poor with a money-hungry mother and two sisters. There is no overbearing and cruel stepmother only a dead tyrant father. The mice well they don't exactly turn into horses. Okay so maybe this isn't exactly like Cinderella but the foundation is there. I swear!
